This aircraft was manufactured by De Havilland Aircraft Company, England, Cons No 1060, and was placed on the Australian Civil Register as VH-ULT, being operated by Mr A Lawson of Naracoorte, SA and the Western Australian Goldfields Aero Club.

On the outbreak of WWII, the aircraft was impressed by the RAAF in January 1940 and issued to No1 FTS Signal School as A7-75. After being converted to Instructional Moth No 2 in June 1940, A7-75 served with the RAAF until July 1944, when it was passed to the Department of Aircraft Production pending disposal.

In January 1946, the Department of Technical Education obtained the aircraft for apprentice training and it was acquired by the Museum in June 1964.
